PLANTLIFE COLD PRESSED SWEET ALMOND OIL.

Happy Sunday babes. Cheers to a great week ahead of us. So, as you all know, sweet almond oil is one of my top three facial oils to use on my body and face. I originally used Aura Cacia sweet almond oil but they changed the way they processed their product and it irritates my face. I was strolling along the skincare aisle in Tj Maxx and discovered PlantLife sweet almond oil. I was so excited to see it was cold pressed I had to buy this product for $6. I personally don’t like expeller pressed facial oils. They don’t sink into skin like cold pressed facial oils do and they cause irritation.

This product is light weight and sinks into the skin almost immediately. It provides a subtle glow and pairs well with face creams and other facial oils such as vitamin e oil and argan oil. I use this product morning and night. It is perfect for Summer time. Once Fall/Winter hits I will need to find a face cream that pairs well with this facial oil. This sweet almond oil looks good under makeup. You can also use sweet almond oil on your hair. Sometimes I use it and it makes my hair look shiny.

The benefits of sweet almond oil:

  • Light weight
  • Hypo-allergenic oil and absorb-able
  • Reduces Inflammation
  • Moisturizes skin
  • Improves Complexion
  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Prevents hair fall outs
  • Fades dark circles
  • Protects your skin from UV-Rays
  • Anti-bacterial properties
  • Always remember when picking a face oil, make sure it is either 100% cold pressed, natural, pure, and/or organic

Have any of you tried this sweet almond oil? If so, how do you like it? You can purchase this product off of Plantlife’s actual website. They have three different sizes.

LUSH MASK OF MAGNAMINTY FACE AND BODY MASK.

Happy Sunday folks. I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I’m here to talk about one of my ol’G face masks I have been using off and on for about five years now. Lush Mask of Magnaminty is one of my favorite clay mask I have ever used. Not only do I love the fresh peppermint smell, I’m digging the green color when I apply this product to my face. You literally will look like Jim Carry from the movie “The Mask” when you apply this on LOL.

This mask deeply cleanses the face leaving your skin feeling soft and refreshed. This product is considered a clay mask. It has kaolin and peppermint in it which those two ingredients are known to deeply cleanse the skin. It has honey in it which is a humectant. Honey hydrates the skin, treat inflammation and irritation, and deeply cleans the skin. It also can be used a face scrub due to the aduki beads in it. I tried it as a face scrub and it worked fine, but I rather use this product as a face mask.

Before you use this product, you should wash your face with a gentle cleanser. After, apply this mask on dry skin. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Wash it off your face and moisturize after. I want to inform you, and his mask does tingle a bit due to the peppermint in it. If you experience any irritation from this mask discontinue using it. Lush also has a self-preserving Mask of Magnaminty which is made for more dry and sensitive skin. It has more honey in it to hydrate the skin. I have used both and love them equally the same.

Have any of you tried this face mask before? If so, how do you like it?

BIODERMA HYDRABIO H2O MICELLAR WATER.

Happy Sunday folks. Summer has FINALLY arrived in the PNW. We had such a rainy Spring, this sun and hot weather is much needed. I want to introduce you to the BIODERMA HYDRABIO H2O Micellar Water. This is one of the OG’s of the micellar water train. Bioderma has been around for over forty years and they are located in France. They make products for all skin types that instantly soothes the skin. I’m a huge fan of micellar water so I was excited to try this brand.

This micellar water is really soothing to the skin. I picked this particular micellar water because it is fragrance free, hydrating, and is the best option for my sensitive skin. I want to note that Bioderma products are hypoallergenic, fragrance, alcohol, and paraben free. I must say, this is one of the best micellar waters I have ever used. Not only does it throughly cleanse your skin, it gets every ounce of makeup off as well. This micellar water is a “no rinse formula” but personally for me when I did not rinse it off, it irritated my skin. But y’all should know by now, my skin is hypersensitive so it can react to anything lol. Once I rinsed it off, my skin felt cleansed, refreshed, and looked brighter.

If you are the type of person who has a hard time finding a cleanser that works for your skin, try this micellar water. If you’re not interested in this particular micellar water, there are several other brands you can choose from. Micellar water is safe to use day and night.

Have any of you used this micellar water? If so, how did you like it?

CLIGANIC 100% PURE VITAMIN E OIL.

Howdy folks. I hope you all had a great weekend. I want to inform y’all about this vitamin e oil I have been using for the past couple of weeks. Vitamin e oil is one of my favorite oils to use on my face. Major of the vitamin e oils I find are concentrated with other ingredients in them. I was so excited to see this was pure vitamin e oil since my skin is so reactive to everything right now. Occlusives are a great staple to add in your skincare routine if your skin is feeling parched. I have dry sensitive ass skin so adding occlusives is a must for me.

This vitamin e oil has a thick consistency and is a brownish pink color. This is the first vitamin e oil tI tried that was 100% pure, so I was not expecting it to be as thick as it was. I personally like thicker feeling facial products so this is a win for me. It does smell like fish when applying to the skin but the smell goes away after a few minutes. I ordered this product off Amazon for $10.

Vitamin e oil benefits:

  • Hydrating
  • Helps fade hyperpigmentation
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Calms irritated skin
  • Helps repair a damaged moisture barrier
  • Gives the skins a healthy glow
  • It’s an antioxidant
  • It has anti aging properties

Have any of you tried this product? If so, what do you think about it.

bareMinerals BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation.

Happy Sunday folks. I hope you had a wonderful work week. The sun is finally shining today in the PNW and I’m here for it. I want to introduce you to one of my favorite foundations of all time. That is the bareMinerals BarePro Liquid foundation. I have been using this foundation since 2017. I make sure I keep this product in my rotation. It’s just that good and it does not break me out or cause irritation to my skin.

This foundation has a true demi matte finish and provides medium to full coverage. I have dry skin and it does not make my skin feel dry or suffocated. It has SPF 20 in it. The foundation has bamboo stem extract which creates a soft focus blurred effect. It has papaya enzyme that improves skin texture. I am the shade Chai 26 in this foundation. For reference, I am Macao in Nars, NC 47 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and Amber 11 in Milani Conceal foundation. I can honestly say the bareMineral BarePro foundation is about 95% transfer proof which is important to me. I cannot stand when a foundation transfers everywhere. I always spray my MAC Fix+ setting spray after applying this foundation and it gives me a radiant dewy finish.

This foundation is $37.00 and is sold at Ulta, Sephora, Macys, and the bareMinerals store. They have a pretty good shade range and bareMinerals is known to create products with natural and vegan ingredients. Have any of you ever tried this foundation? If so, what do you think about?

DIY FACE MASKS.

Happy Sunday babies. It’s 72 degrees over here in the PNW and this weather has me so ready for Summer. I want to inform you all about some DIY face masks I love to do year round. These face masks in particular help with hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, hydration, and smooth skin. I use to be that person to buy hydrating masks. Once I started researching, I soon learned you can create your own hydrating face masks at home with ingredients in the fridge.

Avocado, plain yogurt, honey, and turmeric face mask. This mask was a life savior for me last year. We had a harsh winter last year and I was do this a few times per week and it would help draw moisture into my dry flaky skin. I was experiencing horrible breakouts and this combination would help reduce the inflammation. I left this mask on for ten to fifteen minutes. Washed it off with lukewarm water and moisturized right after. Please be aware that turmeric can stain your skin yellow so it is best to do this mask at night before bed.

Honey and turmeric face mask. When I didn’t feel like using yogurt and avocado on my face I would opt for this combination. It was still extremely hydrating because of the honey and helped smooth out my fine lines and dry skin. I kept this mask on for about twenty to thirty minutes. Washed it off with lukewarm water and moisturized right after.

Honey and aloe Vera face mask. This one is my main go to. This combination on my skin works wonders. Y’all know I rave about aloe Vera and how it has helps my skin transform so much in the last six months. My hyperpigmentation has lightened up tremendously and I rarely have any acne pop up anymore, especially during that time of the month. I can keep this mask on for HOURS. When I say hours, I’m not exaggerating. I have kept this mask on for five hours and it doesn’t irritate my skin.

What are your favorite DIY face masks?

SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINES.

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother’s Day to all of you beautiful mothers out there. I hope you’re enjoying your day. Summer 2022 is around the corner and that means it is time to revamp your skincare routine. By revamping, I mean swapping out your facial creams for gel moisturizers and facial lotions. You want to focus on using light weight products during the Summer since it tends be a lot warmer. I personally love using occlusives during the Summer time such as vitamin e oil, sweet almond oil, marula oil, and etc. I don’t usually need to add face lotion on top of any oil I use because the oils are hydrating enough.

I personally don’t use SPF on a regular basis but adding SPF to your skincare routine is always important during Summer. We should be using it year round but be sure to lather yourself up with SPF when you’re out in the sun. I haven’t found one that doesn’t cause me to break out yet so if you have any recommendations please let me know.

At times, I cycle through different facial cleansers depending on the time of the year. My two favorites at the moment are the bareMinerals Pureness Gel Cleanser and that good ol’ fresh honey. Both of these products are extremely hydrating to the skin and leave me glowing. Honey is awesome to use year round as a facial cleanser or even just using them as face mask a couple times per week.

Have any of you bought some new facial products for Summer? If so, what are they and have you tested them out yet?

THE POWER OF ICE CUBES AND FRESH ALOE VERA.

Happy Sunday beautiful people. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I’m here to talk about two of my favorite skin care products I use daily which are ice cubes and FRESH aloe vera. This combination has literally SAVED my poor skin from my awful breakouts and irritation I was experiencing last year. I started using this method back in November of 2021 when I was trying to figure out a good face routine again. I had to simplify my skincare routine and only wash my face with a gentle cleanser at night. This was a complete game changer for me. Sometimes we can over wash our face and cause it too become dry, sensitive, irritated, and inflamed.

Okay, so let’s get into it. Rubbing Ice on your face helps with blood circulation and flow. It helps heal and prevent acne. It helps with inflammation and irritated skin. It is a good face primer. Gives your skin a beautiful glow and helps reduce the sign of aging. It reduces swollen eyes. I rub an ice cube on my face for 2-3 minutes after I wash my face at night. Remember to rub the ice cube in a circular motion all over face. You do not want to keep it in face in one area for a long time because it can cause irritation to the skin.

Aloe vera is a succulent plant. It can be used to treat sunburns. It helps soothe irritated and inflamed skin. It has anti bacterial properties. It is extremely moisturizing and calming. You can also eat and drink aloe vera which helps heal the gut. I have posted a photo below explaining how I use aloe vera.

Do any of you use aloe vera? If so, how do use it? Also, If the aloe vera has caused any type of irritation or rash, discontinue using it. More than likely you’re allergic to it.

NARS NATURAL RADIANT FOUNDATION.

Happy Sunday beautiful people. It’s warm and sunny in the PNW and this weather got me ready for Summer. So, let’s talk about the Nars Natural Radiant Foundation. I have a love/hate relationship with this foundation. Nars has some of the best beauty products in the game but this foundation falls short for me. This foundation released at the end of 2017. I was extremely excited to get my hands on this product. Nars is known to have a diverse shade range and Macao matches my skin perfectly.

Nars is known to make products to enhance your natural skin. This particular foundation is a lightweight formula that provides medium to full coverage. This foundation is infused with watermelon, raspberry, and apple to improve the texture of your skin. This foundation is breathable and should be applied with your fingers. Nars claims that this foundation is water resistant and transfer proof but I beg to differ. This foundation transfers terribly. It also enhances the blemishes, fine lines, and wrinkles in your skin throughout the day. I will say, it does apply smoothly and evenly on my skin but I prefer a transfer proof foundation that wears longer. Even with a primer it doesn’t last long and still transfer everywhere.

I have pretty clear skin but I just don’t enjoy this foundation as others I own. I do feel this is a good foundation for someone who has flawless glass like skin and wants a light weight medium to full coverage foundation. You may need to mix this foundation with another foundation if your want it to last longer on the skin. This foundation is best for normal to dry skin only. My peeps who have oily skin should definitely avoid this.

Have any of you tried this foundation? If so, how do you like it? Drop the comments below.

MILANI CONCEAL + PERFECT 2-in-1 FOUNDATION + CONCEALER.

Happy Sunday folks. It’s rainy, wet, and cold in the PNW and I am chilling on the couch drinking some water and appreciating my down before I have to prepare myself for work tomorrow. Okay, so let’s get into it. I’m a foundation snob. I rotate through foundations yearly. I’m always looking for a good foundation that will have me serving that dewy galore look. I have about five to seven foundations I rotate throughout the year. Each one serves it purpose and depending on the season, I alternate through all of them.

The Milani Conceal + Perfect is one of my holy grail foundations of all time. I have not found a drug store foundation that matches my complexion perfectly. This foundation is considered a natural matte finish that is water and sweat proof, oil free, and medium to full coverage. It is a foundation and concealer all in one that helps with redness, puffiness, and imperfections. Let me tell you, it truly does what is states. On my skin, this foundation sets as a dewy finish. It is transfer proof and blends beautifully into the skin. You can either use a beauty blender, your fingers, or a foundation brush to blend this baby in. I don’t recommend this foundation for someone who is looking for a light coverage foundation. This foundation does not give a natural look.

You can purchase this foundation at CVS, Target, Walmart, And Milani’s website. This foundation ranges from $10-$13 depending on where you purchase it from. This foundation is available in 45 shades on Milani’s and Target’s website which means you should be able to find the perfect match. There are limited shade selections in store.

Have any of you tried this foundation? If so, what are your thoughts and how did you like it?
