MY FALL/WINTER MOISTURIZING CREAM.

Happy Sunday folks. It’s my first post of the year and I am so excited to share my fall/winter moisturizer. So, I have been loving La Roche Posay products lately. They’re are so soothing and hydrating to the skin. I recently picked up the La Roche Posay LIPIKAR Eczema Soothing Relief Cream and boy, let me tell you, I am loving it. Just in case you’re wondering, no I don’t have eczema on my face but this cream absorbs into my skin so nicely, like no other cream I have ever used.

This face cream can be used on the face and body. Previously, I was using the Triple Repair Cream on my face but it was clogging my pores. Now I use it on my body and my skin is extremely hydrated. La Roche Posay uses thermal spring water, glycerin, and shea butter in there products. In this product, they added colloidal oatmeal which is an ingredient to soothe eczema prone skin. Colloidal oatmeal is anti inflammatory, rehydrates the skin, balances your skins natural ph levels, and locks in moisture to the skin. Colloidal oatmeal can cause skin irritation, so I suggest doing a test patch before you apply this product to your face.

Because my skin is as dry as the Sahara desert, I added pure glycerin to this product and it is working miracles on me. I cleaned out an old 4oz jar of face cream I had that I was no longer using. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of glycerin to the bottom of the jar. Then squeeze the cream in the jar and mix together. Glycerin is a thick potent ingredient so you have to be strategic and measure how much you mix into your cream. 80/20 ratio is best when adding glycerin. If you feel like you need to add more glycerin in add small drops and test as you go on the skin. I had to add a little more glycerin in mine to make it more hydrating. The first batch I mixed I did add too much in the jar so I had to rebuy and remake. So I use the greasier ones as a body lotion now during these cold months.

Glycerin is a humectant that allows the skin to retain moisture. It helps repair the skin barrier, increases hydration, relives dry skin, and helps the skin retain moisture. Make sure not use too much or it can irritate the skin. Glycerin is best for dry/normal/sensitive skin types. If you have combination/oily skin, use with precaution since this product is very oily and thick. since I purchased my glycerin at CVS for $9.

Have any of you tried these products. If so, how do you like them?

La Roche Posay LIPIKAR Eczema Soothing Relief Cream $17. CVS Beauty 360 Pure Glycerin $9.
